Complete guide to Studio Pixel guest artists
Hosting guest artists at Studio Pixel has become a well-established tradition. Each invitation brings a fresh breath into our Grenoble workshop: different styles, human exchanges, and clients discovering new ways of tattooing. Guest artists sometimes come from nearby, sometimes from far away, and enjoy a safe environment to share their work. We handle the communication ahead of time, organise the slots, and provide a ready-to-use station so every guest can focus on creating.
When a guest confirms their dates, we publish their schedule on this page and in the newsletter. The goal is to give visibility to their work, reassure those who book, and avoid unnecessary back-and-forth. Most arrive with a flash portfolio, custom projects, and limited availability. Slots fill up quickly, so do not hesitate to send a detailed message: idea, size, placement, desired budget, and references if you have any. This transparency saves time and helps secure a suitable slot.
We select guests based on simple criteria: artistic quality, professional seriousness, willingness to share, and respect for the studio's values. Styles range from blackwork to floral, from pop culture to ornamental, from fineline to organic compositions. This diversity lets you try a different style or meet an artist you have been following for a long time. We also host handpoke guests or artists with very graphic approaches for those who like to step off the beaten path.
Before a guest arrives, we prepare the station, check the sterile equipment, consumables, and thoroughly clean the work area. Guest artists use their own inks, needles, and gloves, but we supply everything needed to meet hygiene standards. The studio stays calm and organised: everyone knows when they work, how to access their appointments, and whom to ask if needed.
If you have already booked, we send you a reminder with the address (126 rue de Stalingrad in Grenoble), tram access, and nearby parking. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to take time to chat, verify the placement, and ask any questions. Do not forget to bring ID and let us know about any health contraindications. Staying hydrated and rested before the session remains the best way to ensure a smooth tattoo experience.
On the day, we let the guest artist manage their own pace while staying available to help if needed. Some people come in groups to book multiple slots, others prefer a more intimate session. In all cases, we make sure to maintain a respectful and inclusive atmosphere. Accompanied guests are welcome within the limits of available space so as not to disturb other clients.
After the session, we go over the basics of aftercare: bandage, gentle cleaning, appropriate cream, care frequency, and signs to watch for. Each artist has their own preferences, but the essential rules remain cleanliness, hydration, and patience. We stay reachable by email if you have questions. A follow-up photo a few days later helps the guest artist see the healing progress and offer advice if needed.
Our archive gathers every guest who has ever visited Studio Pixel. It lets you find a name, revisit a style, and sometimes book during a future visit. Some collaborations come back year after year — we love these bonds that build over time. Other artists only pass through once, offering Grenoble locals the chance to experience rare styles without travelling across the country.
To choose your guest, ask yourself what matters most: a specific style, a more experimental approach, a tiny tattoo, or a large piece. Browse the profiles, look at the flashes, and do not hesitate to ask the resident team for advice. We can also guide you toward the right format or adjust your budget based on the estimated time. The goal remains to create a smooth, human, and memorable experience.
Our guests also enjoy the city. Between the Bastille, walks along the Isère river, and neighbourhood restaurants, Grenoble offers a pleasant environment to work and recharge. We happily share our favourite spots so they leave with good memories. A friendly atmosphere, sincere exchanges, and successful projects — that is what drives us to keep organising guests month after month.
If you want to make sure you do not miss anything, subscribe to the newsletter at the bottom of the page. It rounds up guest announcements, new flash designs, and a few studio updates. We stay transparent about dates, prices, payment methods, and cancellation policies. Our priority is that you feel comfortable, heard, and well-informed before going under the needle.
