A Day of Ink, Traditions, and Creeps
On November 2, Max Graire, Yoyo, Soso, Mary Kate, Noctalia, The Lost, and Gab de Bogota will be tattooing from 11 AM to 6 PM — while Nannoo greets you with her usual energy 💀 As always, it's happening at Studio Pixel, 126 rue de Stalingrad, Grenoble.
Keeping the Halloween Party Going
Halloween is that time of year when the lines between worlds blur a little. And what's more natural than carving that energy into your skin? At Studio Pixel, we love stretching out that strange, festive atmosphere — mixing old symbols with modern graphic design. Flash Days were born from exactly that: celebrating the moment, in the spontaneity of a drawing and the direct encounter between artists and visitors.
On November 2, we're keeping the party going, but also the link between the living and memory — a theme close to both tattooing and the All Saints' season.
Tattoos and Halloween Traditions
Behind the pumpkins and costumes, Halloween traces back to Samhain, a Celtic festival marking the shift into the dark season. It was a time of renewal, when people honored their ancestors and protected themselves from mischievous spirits. Tattooing carries the same relationship with transformation: marking yourself to claim a new chapter, a rebirth, or to exorcise something from the past.
Every design chosen — whether ghostly, botanical, or demonic — carries symbolic weight. The flash pieces drawn for this day follow those codes: shadows, bold lines, black contrast, and a hint of irony.
The Flash Day: A Modern Ritual
The Flash Day is a tradition in contemporary tattooing. Born in the 90s in the US, it became an open day where anyone can walk in and get tattooed without an appointment, choosing from exclusive designs. It's a moment of sharing and instant creation, a window where artists show what they're into right now — often freer and bolder.
At Pixel, it's also a community party: we hang out, talk, laugh, dress up, and celebrate ink and local creativity.
