Alice Gateaux claims a “child-like for adults” drawing style: a soft, tender, and slightly subversive universe where graphic naivety becomes an art form in its own right. Her characters and everyday objects—sometimes absurd, often poetic—seem to have come from a forgotten school notebook, yet they carry profound messages about society, mental health, or tenderness.   Self-taught and a tattoo artist since 2022 after studying art, Alice chose paper over the screen. She rejects Procreate out of love for the gesture, the texture, and the direct contact with the pencil. “Everyone ends up having the same brushstroke on a tablet,” she says. In her work, every line retains a living imperfection, a trace of the body.   Between puns, water-soluble pencils, and electric pencil sharpeners, Alice transforms her studio into a playground. One finds her love for words, anagrams, and board games—all worlds that nourish her playful and sincere relationship with creation.
